This is an awesome drill!! It doesn’t feel too good to get hit in the side with the shaft so it definitely helps you rotate the hips and compress the ball better. Thanks!
Eddie Merrins developed this drill over 50years ago. He wrote a book called Swing the Handle. This is also the drill he promoted in his 10disc DVD set.
Your welcome, I hope this helps, By all means have a look at the rest of our videos and check out our world tour on YouTube and Facebook.
Thank you
A great drill! Will work this out on the range, been scooping a little bit, losing much needed distance. Thanks Mr. Ward!

Hello there! Thanks for this useful video. By the way, I hear a lot of people keep on talking about Golfonax Training Program (just google it), but I’m not sure if it is really good. Have you ever tried this golf training known as Golfonax Training Program? I’ve heard many great things about it.
Its still surprises me, just how lot of people don’t know about Golfonax Training Program (do a google search), despite the fact that lots of people improve their golf skills because of this training program. Thanks to my friend who told me about Golfonax Training Program, I have improve the weakest part of my golf game.

Great, sounds like the bottom of the arc has move forward! I would certainly expect to lose a certain amount of consistency when practicing but as you get more use to the correct feeling i’m sure it will even out! Any more questions, don’t hesitate to ask. Thanks, Andy.
Hi Andy,
Thanks for your reply. Actually it tried to really throw my hands and it somewhat worked as it resulted in a big shift of the lowest swing point towards the front foot (at least 6 inches) which is what I was looking for to eliminate fat strokes.
However I akso lost a lot of consistency at impact in the process…
Probably too exagerated…
Hi. What you have described is a “feeling” so what I would say is yes that could work as a feeling for you maybe different to others. I would suggest filming your swing with that feeling and see how much difference it makes. Just be sure not to leave the club face open, also ensure your body leads! Hope that helps. Andy
Hi Andy,
Thank you for this video.
What do you think of the idea of throwing the hands towards the ball to create lag?
